Bhubaneswar: In a shocking incident, a Class IX student of a government school under Kudanagari police station in Kendrapara district was allegedly found carrying a gun in his pocket during school hours.
According to reports, the incident occurred when the mathematics class was underway. The mathematics teacher discovered the firearm concealed in his waist during a routine check. The teacher subsequently took the matter to the notice of the school administration.
Concerned over the incident, the school headmaster soon lodged a complaint with the local police, who seized the gun and sent it for forensic testing to determine its origin and authenticity. The student has been taken into custody and placed in a correctional home.
Police, meanwhile, launched an investigation to uncover the motive behind the incident. The student is being questioned, and further action will be taken based on the investigation’s findings.
The incident has sparked panic among students and school staff.
