Bhubaneswar: A 15-year-old Class 10 student of Muniguda Adarsh Vidyalaya allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Goudasahi, Muniguda, triggering shock in the area.
The deceased has been identified as Smile Pradhan, daughter of Sanjay Pradhan.According to reports, the incident occurred when no one was at home. Smile’s parents returned later and found her hanging from a ceiling fan with a stole. They immediately informed Muniguda police.
On receiving information, Muniguda police reached the spot, seized the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. The girl’s parents told police they had breakfast with her in the morning before stepping out.
The investigating officer said Smile’s mobile phone has been seized and sent for forensic examination.
The body was handed over to the family after the post-mortem.
Police said the exact cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report is received and further investigation is underway.
