Bhadrak: Unable to handle examination pressure, a Class X student reportedly committed suicide at his aunt’s house at Jahangir Sasan village under Dhamnagar police limits in Bhadrak on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Abhishek Panda, a resident of Radha village of Udala in Mayurbhanj district. However, Abhishek was residing at his aunt’s house in Bhadrak and pursuing Class X.
According to sources, Abhishek was supposed to appear for English examination today. His aunt knocked on his door at 4am so that he could prepare himself for the board examination. His family members broke open the door after Abhishek did not open the door. To their shock, they found him hanging.
However, police are yet to ascertain the reason behind his death. It is suspected that he took the extreme step due to examination pressure.
His aunt said, “Yesterday Abhishek had received a message from a girl. She had written that she would commit suicide. When I asked him about the girl, he told me that that girl might have sent the message to him wrongly. Later, he fell asleep.”
Police meanwhile recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem.
