Bhubaneswar: As many as five passengers including a 3-month-old infant of a car had a close shave after the vehicle caught fire after being hit by another car in a bid to save a bull.
The incident took place in Pipili Dandamukundapur in Puri district on Sunday.
The car was going from Bhubaneswar to Puri. Suddenly a bull ran from the right side near Dandamukundapur. The driver turned the car to the left side to save the bull. As a result, the car hit a scooter coming from the left side lost its balance and overturned. The scooter along with the rider also fell into the roadside nullaha.
However, all the passengers came out of the car before it caught fire. Pipli fire brigade arrived at the spot and doused the fire in the car.
Local police also rushed to the spot and started an inquiry. All five passengers and scooter rider sustained injuries and have been admitted to a nearby hospital.
