Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in a video message appealed to all to dedicate January 17th — the day Srimandir Parikrama Prakalpa (Puri Heritage Corridor Project) will be inaugurated, for Mahaprabhu Jagannath and participate in this celebration with joy and devotion.
“Mahaprabhu Jagannath is the foundation of our culture, tradition and consciousness. As per His wish ‘Srimandir Parikrama Prakalpa’ is going to be inaugurated on January 17th. Come let us dedicate this day for the Mahaprabhu with our families and participate in the celebration with joy, devotion and submission by lighting lamps, singing bhajans and kirtans, jap the Lord’s name in our own way,” said Patnaik in the video message.
The objective of this project is to provide devotees and people an experience of peace and divine bliss while circumambulating the shrine, he added.
Quoting Gajapati Maharaja he said work of such scale for Srimandir has not been done in the past 700 years and is a day of celebration for the entire Odia race.
