Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister-designate Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday garlanded the statues of prominent personalities of the state located at different places in the capital city Bhubaneswar ahead of his swearing-in ceremony in the evening.
Deputy Chief Minister-designates KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida and several other BJP leaders accompanied Majhi this morning.
The BJP leaders garlanded the statues of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das at Gopandhu Square, Utkal Gaurav Madhusudan Das, and BR Ambedkar at AG Square. They then moved to Vani Vihar to garland the statue of Fakir Mohan Senapati.
On the way, the Chief Minister-designate met people from the society and listened to their grievances. Promising to consider their demands, Majhi said, “People told me about their grievances. The last government failed to fulfill the basic needs of the people. Now, under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we will work hard to fulfill their demands.”
According to the Chief Minister-designate, his government will initiate a 100-day programme to execute various welfare projects. At the same time, the BJP government will prioritise upholding the Odia Asmita.
“People’s trust in the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be respected. Odisha Asmita which is at stake will be upheld,” he said.
