Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated a school established by KISS at Bhawanipatna in Kalahandi district through video conferencing.
According to an official press release issued by the CMO, 1,200 children from the scheduled tribe (ST) community will study in this school.
The Chief Minister praised the efforts of KISS for opening schools in all districts for improving education in the State, especially for promoting education among ST children.
Patnaik said that now Kalahandi is moving ahead in the field of education. He stated that university, Government Engineering College, etc have created a new identity for the district.
Stating that education is the most powerful medium for transformation, the Chief Minister said that the State government is laying maximum emphasis on education. Under the 5T initiative, maximum emphasis is being laid on the transformation of schools.
Participating in the programme, MPs Basant Panda and Sujit Kumar, MLA Pradip Disari and others praised the efforts of KISS and its founder MP Achyut Samanta for promoting education among children of the ST community.
