Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has laid the foundation stone for Odisha State Warehousing Corporation’s new head office to be built at a cost of Rs 19.60 crore. Odisha State Warehousing Corporation was established in 1958.
This corporation manages warehouses with a total capacity of 5,21,400 metric tonnes at 68 locations in 30 districts of the state. It provides support to the related system of storage and proper distribution of agricultural products in a scientific manner.
The head office of the Corporation, located at Cuttack Road, Bhubaneswar, manages all the business operations of the warehouses. As the business of the corporation grows, so does its scope of work
To create basic infrastructure to fulfill this requirement, steps have been taken to construct a new 4-storey office building in the head office premises.
IDCO, Bhubaneswar has been entrusted with the construction of this project. The building can provide a good environment for the chairman, managing director, other officers and assistant staff of the corporation as per the requirements of the workplace as well as provide ancillary facilities for the reception room, board room, and visitor restroom. The construction of the project is targeted to be completed within 18 months.
