Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep grief over the death of three Odia labourers in a road accident in Telangana and announced an ex-gratia of Rs 4 lakh each from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to the next of kin of the deceased.
The labourers, hailing from Bakadabeda village under Jharigaon block in Nabarangpur district, were identified as Jayaram Bhatra, 56, son of Tutu Bhatra, Narayan Bhatra, 20, son of Laiban Bhatra, and Chetanaman Bhatra, 21, son of Biswanath Bhatra.
The accident occurred when a speeding goods-laden truck hit the labourers from behind while they were engaged in roadside plantation work in the Sikandar Kaman area under Keesara police limits in Telangana, killing them instantly. The workers had left for Telangana 11 days ago.
