Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday approved ₹658.03 crore under the ABADHA (Augmentation Basic Amenities and Development of Heritage and Architecture) scheme for a set of ongoing infrastructure and heritage projects in Puri, raising the sanctioned outlay by ₹100.83 crore.
The enhanced allocation will cover works related to the Jagannath Ballabh Tirthayatri Kendra (Pilgrim Centre), Market Complex, Shri Setu and expansion of the Musa River.
The projects were initially sanctioned at ₹557.19 crore. However, additional construction works and project requirements necessitated a revision of the estimated cost.
One of the additional components is the construction of a 2,000-seater multipurpose hall on the fifth floor of the Jagannath Ballabh Pilgrim Centre, officials said.
Following a review of the additional requirements, the Chief Minister approved a revised project cost of ₹658,03,70,000, resulting in an increase of ₹100,83,85,000 over the original allocation.
Majhi said the state government would ensure that adequate funds were made available for the development of Puri, the abode of Lord Jagannath, and that there would be no shortage of funds for such works.
