Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has highly appreciated the Odisha Fire and Emergency Services (OFS) team for successfully rescuing a 14-year-old boy who was trapped in a narrow rock crevice in Kanipada forest in Nayagarh district.

Expressing his gratitude, CM Mohan Majhi praised the courage, professionalism, and technical expertise displayed by the rescue personnel during the challenging six-hour operation. “The courage and technical skills displayed by our rescue team in a critical situation are truly commendable,” said Chief Minister Mohan Majhi.

Highlighting the government’s priority on citizen safety, the Chief Minister added: “The safety and well-being of every life in the state is of utmost importance to our government. Our prompt and timely action in times of disaster is the hallmark of a good administration. We are not just making plans, but are committed to the safety of the people of Odisha in every crisis.”

The 14-year-old boy from Gaintara village under Shardapur panchayat had gone to the hills to collect honey when he accidentally got stuck in the treacherous rock crevice. Teams from Nayagarh and Odgaon Fire Stations, along with the Striking Fire Force (Central Range), carried out the difficult rescue operation with great efficiency.

The rescued boy is safe and has been reunited with his family.
