Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Majhi congratulated four Odisha personalities nominated for the prestigious Padma Shri Awards 2026, recognising their outstanding contributions to literature, education, and arts.
The awardees are Charan Hembram, Mahendra Kumar Mishra, Sarat Kumar Patra, and Simanchal Patro.
“Warm congratulations to Shri Charan Hembram, Shri Mahendra Kumar Mishra, Shri Sarat Kumar Patra, and Shri Simanchal Patro on the announcement of the Padma Shri Awards 2026 for their remarkable contributions to literature, education, and the arts. Their achievements have brought national recognition to Odisha’s rich cultural and intellectual heritage,” Majhi wrote on X.
The Padma Shri Awards, announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs, honour notable contributions in various fields. Charan Hembram is a prominent Santali author and composer, Mahendra Kumar Mishra is an eminent linguist and folklorist, and Sarat Kumar Patra and Seemanchal Patro are noted artists
