Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed to make Odisha a leading industrial state in the country and create ample employment opportunities for the youth of the state.
Chief Minister Majhi issued the directive during a review of the programmes of the Industries Department and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Department today at Lok Seva Bhawan.
The Chief Minister said that Odisha has vast opportunities to boost industrialization and provide employment opportunities to the youth. He directed to give importance to the establishment of port-based industries and modern-age industries along with metal and mineral-based industries.
He advised to focus on the development of the local area as well as creating a better environment for the industry.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has a special focus on Odisha. He said that Odisha will be the gateway to the development of the country in the next 25 years. Therefore, he advised to take immediate steps for the infrastructure development required for industrialization.
He said that if more labour-intensive industries are established in Odisha, the local youth can get employment.
He also suggested for giving importance to various schemes of the Central Government in the field of MSMEs, such as Mudra Swanidhi and Viswakarma schemes, so that new entrepreneurs can get the opportunity.
The meeting was attended by Industries Minister Sampad Charan Swain and MSME Minister Gokulanand Mallik, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Nikunj Bihari Dhal, Principal Secretary Industries Hemant Sharma and Principal Secretary MSME Saswat Mishra among others.
