Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo have extended their congratulations and best wishes to Group Captain Subhanshu Shukla and the entire team of the Axiom-4 space mission. The Chief Minister wished the team a safe and successful journey, highlighting the pride and milestone this achievement marks for the nation.

In a social media post, CM Majhi praised Group Captain Shukla’s participation in the prestigious mission, reflecting the excellence, discipline, and commitment of the Indian Air Force. He noted that this achievement will inspire countless young minds across the country as India strengthens its presence in global space exploration.

Deputy CM KV Singh Deo also congratulated Group Captain Shukla, stating that his inclusion in the Axiom-4 mission is an extraordinary honour that showcases the Indian Air Force’s excellence and India’s growing presence in the global space ecosystem. He added that Group Captain Shukla’s feat will ignite curiosity, courage, and aspiration in the hearts of young Indians, inspiring them to reach for the stars.

Shubhanshu Shukla, who began his historic mission to become the first from India to reach the International Space Station on Wednesday, said it’s the journey of India’s human space flight.

After 41 years, India will have an astronaut in space. Shukla will be the second Indian in space after Rakesh Sharma’s flight in 1984.

Shukla’s flight launched at 2.31 a.m. EDT ( noon IST) from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, aboard a new SpaceX Dragon spacecraft on the company’s Falcon 9 rocket.
