CM Majhi Expresses Concern Over Bengaluru-Kamakhya Express Derailment, Assures Swift Action

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep concern over the derailment of the Bengaluru-Kamakhya AC Superfast Express near Nergundi station in Cuttack district on Sunday.

Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, CM Majhi wrote, “Deeply concerned about the derailment of Kamakhya Express near Nergundi station in #Cuttack. Grateful that all passengers are safe. Authorities are on-site, ensuring assistance and restoring normalcy at the earliest. Helplines activated for support.”

According to reports, the tragic incident occurred at approximately 11:54 am, resulting in the death of one passenger and leaving seven others injured.

A total of 11 coaches of the train derailed in the Cuttack-Nergundi railway section of the Khurda Road division.
