Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed deep sorrow over the passing of senior Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and former Kantabanji MLA Ayub Khan.
“I am saddened to learn of the passing of senior leader and former Kantabanji MLA Ayub Khan. As an experienced people’s representative, he will always remain memorable. During this sorrowful time, I extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved family members while praying for the eternal peace of his departed soul,” CM Mohan Charan Majhi said.
Ayub Khan breathed his last at his residence in Kantabanji. The news was confirmed by his son, Dr. Amjad Ali Khan. A prominent face in western Odisha politics, Ayub Khan played a significant role in strengthening the BJD’s organisational base in the Nuapada and Kantabanji region.
He was elected as an Independent MLA from 2004 to 2009 and later served as a BJD legislator from 2014 to 2019. He was widely respected for his organisational capabilities and contributions to public service and regional development.
