Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday hailed the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) strong electoral showing in West Bengal, describing it as a decisive shift in public sentiment from “bhay” (fear) to “bharosa” (trust).

In a series of posts on social media platform X, Majhi said the mandate reflected more than just an electoral outcome, calling it a collective call for change rooted in aspirations for stability, development, and principled governance. He also joined party workers at a “Vijay Utsav” held at the BJP’s state headquarters in Bhubaneswar.

“The verdict signifies a transition from fear to trust and underscores the people’s desire for progress and accountable governance,” Majhi said.

The ancient spirit of Anga, Banga, and Kalinga finds its renewed expression today.

Drawing a cultural and historical parallel, the Chief Minister remarked that the spirit of Anga, Banga, and Kalinga—regions corresponding to present-day Bihar, West Bengal, and Odisha—was being reaffirmed through the electoral outcome. He congratulated the electorate and party workers in West Bengal for their efforts and commitment.

Majhi attributed the party’s performance to public confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his vision for eastern India’s development, often referred to as “Purvoday.” He said the results marked the beginning of a new phase of growth and opportunities, aligned with the broader goal of building a “Viksit Bharat.”

The Odisha Chief Minister also welcomed the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) victory in Assam, terming it a strong endorsement of continuity and governance. He congratulated Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and said the mandate reflected sustained public trust in the BJP-led leadership.

He further extended his congratulations to the people of Puducherry for backing the NDA, stating that the result reaffirmed faith in governance focused on development, accountability, and welfare.

Majhi expressed hope that the renewed mandates in these regions would accelerate inclusive growth and contribute to broader national progress.
