CM Majhi Halves His Cavalcade, Limits To Four Vehicles

Bhubaneswar: In a significant move towards austerity, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has reduced his official cavalcade by nearly half, limiting it to just 4 vehicles.

The Chief Minister’s cavalcade previously consisted of 7 vehicles. The decision comes days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong appeal to all leaders and ministers to cut down on unnecessary security and show of power, and to promote a more people-centric and minimalist governance style.

A senior official in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) confirmed that the move is a direct response to PM Modi’s call for simplifying VIP culture and reducing the burden on public resources.
