Cuttack: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has hinted at upgrading the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, saying the state government is committed to enhancing the stadium’s facilities to host more international matches.
Majhi made the remarks after India’s emphatic win over South Africa in the first T20I match at the stadium.
The Chief Minister also appreciated the proposal submitted by the Odisha Cricket Association to upgrade the stadium and assured that the state government would provide necessary support.
Praising the efforts of the Odisha Cricket Association, administrative team, police, and other stakeholders involved in hosting the match, CM said, “The match was thrilling, and the crowd was electric. The Indian team’s performance was outstanding, and the stadium’s management was top-notch.”
“We will do whatever it takes to improve the stadium’s seating capacity and facilities,” CM maintained.
