CM Majhi Mourns Passing Of Former Union Minister Kanhu Charan Lenka

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed his condolences on the passing of former Union Minister and Member of Parliament Kanhu Charan Lenka.

In a post on his X account, Majhi prayed to Lord Jagannath for the peaceful repose of Lenka’s soul and conveyed his sympathy to the bereaved family.

“I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of senior leader, former Union Minister, and former Member of Parliament Kahnu Charan Lenka. I convey my condolences to the bereaved family during this hour of grief, and pray to Lord Shree Jagannath for the peaceful repose of the departed soul”, read the CM’s post on his X handle.

It is pertinent to note that Lenka, a veteran Congress leader, passed away at the age of 87 while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. He had served as a Minister in the PV Narasimha Rao government and was a member of the Rajya Sabha from 1988 to 1994.
