Bhubaneswar: Taking serious note of huge errors found in school textbooks from Class 1 to Class 8, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has ordered a criminal investigation into the entire episode.
The Chief Minister has directed the Director of State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) to register an FIR with the Crime Branch SP immediately.
This strong action follows the submission of a report by a committee constituted under the chairmanship of the Development Commissioner to investigate the lapses in the textbook printing and content approval process.
Earlier, based on the committee’s findings, the former Director of SCERT and three Assistant Directors were placed under suspension, while departmental proceedings were initiated against six other Assistant Directors.
