Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed a Revenue Divisional Commissioner (RDC) level inquiry into the death of Rupali Beshra, a student of the Ashram School at Rasgovindpur in Mayurbhanj district.
Rupali Beshra, daughter of Durga Beshra from Rasagobindapur tehsil, allegedly died due to suspected food poisoning at the school hostel.
The RDC of the Central Division has been instructed to personally visit the spot tomorrow morning (April 16) and conduct a detailed investigation into the circumstances that led to the Class V student’s death and the sudden illness of several other students at the residential school.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic incident and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. He has announced an ex-gratia assistance of ₹3 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to the next of kin of the deceased.
Meanwhile, two medical teams will reach Rasgovindpur tomorrow to examine the health condition of the affected students. One team comprising the Joint Director of the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) and a microbiologist is already stationed in Baripada, while a second medical team will arrive in the morning.
