Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today reviewed various ongoing projects of the Works Department in the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Twin City at Lok Seva Bhawan.
The meeting focused on discussions regarding the integrated development plan for Bhubaneswar and the traffic decongestion plan.
The proposed projects include an elevated corridor from Jayadev Vihar to Nandankanan, construction of a road along the Daya West Canal from Patia Station Chhak to Suanga Mouza, widening of the Sundarpada-Jatni road, and the construction of three flyovers at Kalpana Chhak, Museum, and Shishu Bhawan Chhak, along with an underpass at AG Chhak.
Additionally, work is underway on a left parallel road from the Institute of Mathematics via Pathargadia, Utkal Hospital, and Rail Vihar to Ekamra Kanan.
Plans have also been made for three right access roads from Damana to Press Chhak, Kalarahanga to Barimunda, and Kelucharan Park to Barimunda.
Furthermore, an inner ring road will be constructed.
The Chief Minister expressed optimism that these projects will address the growing traffic issues in Bhubaneswar and contribute significantly to the city’s beautification.
It was decided in the meeting that approximately 366 families displaced due to these construction projects will be rehabilitated and provided financial assistance.
The meeting was attended by, among others, Minister of Works, Law, and Excise Prithviraj Harichandan, Minister of Housing and Urban Development Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Principal Secretary of Works Department Sanjay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary of Finance Department Saswat Mishra, Police Commissioner S. Devadatta Singh, and other senior officials.
