Bhubaneswar: A state-level Nuakhai Bhetghat programme will be held in Sambalpur today, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi attending the event.
Other dignitaries expected to attend include Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, Health Minister Dr Mukesh Mahaling, Panchayati Raj Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, and BJP state president Manmohan Samal.
The programme, organized under the leadership of former minister and Sambalpur MLA Jayanarayan Mishra, will take place at the parking area of the Maa Samaleswari temple.
After arriving in Sambalpur, Chief Minister Majhi will pay his respects at the Maa Samaleswari and Maa Patneswari temples.
The festival is a significant festival in Western Odisha, celebrated to mark the new harvest season.
