Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has convened an urgent meeting to address the potential impact of the Middle East conflict on Odisha’s energy sector.
The meeting, scheduled for this evening at Lok Seva Bhawan, will be attended by all district collectors, who will join via video conferencing. The meeting aims to discuss strategies to tackle the energy crisis, following the Centre’s alert on potential disruptions in gas and petroleum supplies due to the conflict.
The meeting, attended by department heads, will assess the situation in each district and discuss measures to ensure smooth supply of essential commodities, prevent black marketing, and address potential oil and fuel shortages. A road map will be prepared to tackle the situation.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged states to work together as Team India to mitigate the impact. CM Majhi had earlier apprised the Prime Minister of Odisha’s preparedness during a recent discussion. The state government is taking proactive steps to ensure stability in essential commodity supplies and prevent price rise and black marketing.
