Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is all set to visit Balangir district today to inaugurate two important digital initiatives — the e-Panchayat Sabha Portal and the Internal Audit Portal.
He will also distribute work orders to beneficiaries under the Antyodaya Gruha Yojana. In addition, the Chief Minister will lay the foundation stones and inaugurate several development projects in the district.
According to the report, CM Majhi will arrive by helicopter and land at the Police Parade Ground in Manoharpur. From there, he will proceed to the Circuit House and later attend the state-level Panchayati Raj programme to be held at Gandhi Stadium. At the event, he will felicitate district councils, panchayat samitis, and gram panchayats along with their functionaries for excellent performance under the MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) and the Rural Housing Scheme.
Keeping in view the prevailing summer heat, the entire programme has been scheduled for the evening. Senior leaders and officials are expected to attend the event along with the Chief Minister. These include Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Mukesh Mahaling, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik and Lok Sabha MP Sangeeta Kumari Singh Deo.
Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department Secretary Girish SN will also be present.
This visit is expected to give a major boost to digital governance in panchayats and provide direct benefits to the underprivileged sections through the Antyodaya Gruha Yojana in Balangir district.
