Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday called upon all residents to actively participate in the “Single-Use Plastic-Free Picnic Campaign 2025,” organised by the Odisha State Pollution Control Board.
The campaign will continue until January 31, 2026.
Taking to social media platform X, CM Majhi emphasised the need to protect Odisha’s natural resources and environment.
“During this period of tourism and social gatherings, it is our moral responsibility to maintain the cleanliness and dignity of our tourist destinations,” he said.
He urged citizens to completely avoid single-use plastics and adopt environmentally friendly and reusable alternatives.
“By maintaining cleanliness in public places, we can realize the dream of a healthy, beautiful, and prosperous Odisha. Your cooperation and responsible behavior will set an example in environmental conservation,” the CM added.
Expressing confidence in public participation, CM Majhi said that the collective efforts of citizens would help position Odisha as a model state in environmental protection.
