Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi paid rich tributes to former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his death anniversary on Saturday.
In a post on X, Majhi wrote, “The poet, statesman, and epoch-maker, the ‘Bharat Ratna’ Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s immortal memories and ideals will forever remain enshrined in the hearts of the countrymen; a hundred crore salutations on his pious death anniversary.
“In a video message, the Chief Minister said Vajpayee is the “ideology of every Indian” and “a source of inspiration.” “He will remain in the hearts of every proud Indian for ages. Be it the nuclear test, or Kargil war, he has shown the strength to the entire world and proved the success,” Majhi said.
Vajpayee, the first BJP leader to become Prime Minister, was born on December 25, 1924, in Gwalior and died on August 16, 2018, in New Delhi. He served as Lucknow’s Lok Sabha MP for five consecutive terms and led the country as Prime Minister three times.
