Bhubaneswar: The Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) has revealed that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik as the richest MLA in Odisha with Rs 63 crore assets.
Patnaik has possessed immovable assets worth Rs 63, 64, 15, 261 and movable assets worth Rs 23,26,555, the report stated.
The report released by the ADR after analysing the affidavits submitted by all candidates in 2019 and by-elections revealed that BJD’s Jharsuguda MLA Dipali Das, daughter of former minister Naba Das, is the second richest legislator having with totals assets worth around Rs 40 crore including movable assets worth Rs 34,40, 87,879 and immovable assets worth Rs 5,76, 40, 400.
Similarly, Patnagarh MLA Saroj Kumar Meher (BJD)has emerged as the third richest with total assets worth Rs 31 crore. Meher has owned movable assets worth Rs 57,49, 827 and immovable assets worth Rs 30, 86, 05, 862, according to the ADR report.
Khandapada MLA Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Bhadrak MLA Sanjib Kumar Mallick, Congress MLAs Mohammad Moquim (Barabati-Cuttack) and Suresh Kumar Rautray (Jatni) came in fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh in the row respectively.
BJD legislators Pranab Balabantaray (Dharmasala), Sudhir Kumar Samal (Dhenkanal) and Susant Kumar Rout (Bhubaneswar North) are the eighth, ninth and 10th richest legislators in the state respectively.
Congress MLA Makarand Muduli from Rayagada having total assets worth Rs 15,000 is the poorest MLA in Odisha. He has movable assets worth Rs 15,000 with no immovable assets.
