Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is scheduled to inaugurate the state-of-the-art Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar Bus Terminal at Baramunda in Bhubaneswar at 5.45 pm on Friday.
Built over 15 acres of land, the bus terminal can handle 30,000 passengers and 700-800 buses daily. In addition, 115 car parking spaces are reserved in the basement, while the terminal has space for parking 2,000 buses.
The new inter-state Baramunda Bus Terminal or BSABT is a high-tech installation located at Baramunda in the capital city. It boasts electric stairs, elevators, and a lavish food court. Giant LED screens will provide all bus-related information for passengers, while lifts and escalators are provided for easy movement from one floor to another.
The bus stand also offers air-conditioned rooms for travellers. Passengers will get services like front office, medical, ATM, and food court under one roof. The bus terminal has an Ahar Plus Center for the convenience of the passengers.
The air-conditioned rooms will offer the facilities available in star hotels. Along with this, travellers can enjoy homemade food at Mission Shakti Cafe and Millet Cafe. Besides, there is a sports hall for the waiting children.
A police outpost manned by 89 cops has been set up at the bus terminal for the safety of the passengers.
