Bhubaneswar: Swabhiman Anchal in Malkangiri district is making rapid progress in development. Since the construction of Gurupriya Bridge, many basic services such as communication, electricity, drinking water, education, health, and telecommunication are available for the residents of the area.
Swabhiman Anchal is making rapid strides in the process of transformation. The Chief Minister has also launched Setu Yojana (Socio Economic Transformation & Upliftment) for the social and economic development of Swabhiman Anchal.
To take the process further ahead and strengthen the communication system, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has decided to construct three large bridges in Chitrakonda block and has sanctioned Rs 101 crore for the purpose. This will benefit 37,000 people of Swabhiman Anchal, said an official press release.
The Chief Minister expressed hope that social amenities along with the convenience of transit will contribute to economic growth.
It is worth noting that under the direction of the Chief Minister, 5T Secretary V K Pandian visited Malkangiri on March 29 and reviewed various development plans and met the common people and heard their grievances. Pandian informed the Chief Minister about the requests made by the people at various places. Later, the Chief Minister sanctioned Rs 101 crore for the construction of three new large bridges in Malkangiri district.
Among the three approved bridges, one 111-meter-long bridge will be constructed over the Khaliagarh canal from Jantri to Dhakpadar road. Rs 20 crore rupees will be spent for this. Especially, people of Panasput and Jantri Gram Panchayats will be benefited by this.
The second bridge will be constructed over Kumudaguda river from Ghanabeda to Kodigandhi road. Rs 27 crore will be spent on this 223-meter-long bridge. The people of Panasput, Jantri and Andrapalli Gram Panchayats will be especially benefitted by this bridge.
The third bridge will be built over the Machhkund river. This bridge will connect Biseiguda with Jantri. Rs 54 crore will be spent on this 372-meter-long bridge. This will benefit the people of Yangi, Papermetla and Andrapalli Gram Panchayats.
