Coal-Laden Truck Mows Down CRPF Jawan In Odisha’s Nuapada

Nuapada: In yet another incident of a fatal road accident, a CRPF jawan was run over by a coal-laden truck in the Komana block of Odisha’s Nuapada district on Sunday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Chaitanya Sabar (40), a jawan of the 216 CRPF battalion stationed in Bhadrak district. Sabar is a native of Khirmar village under Rokal panchayat in Boden block.

According to reports, a coal-laden truck on its way to Raipur hit Sabar’s bike near Nuapada Fire Station while he was on his way to Komana on Sunday evening. A critically injured Sabar was rushed to Nuapada district headquarters hospital (DHH) where the doctors declared him ‘brought dead’.

Soon after the accident, police chased the coal-laden truck and arrested the driver Pradip Singh. According to police, the driver was in an inebriated condition at the time of the accident.
