Bhubaneswar: In a scorching start to the day, several coastal areas in Odisha recorded high temperatures as of 8:30 AM today, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
According to IMD scientist Umasankar Das, Puri topped the list with a mercury level of 34.8°C, followed closely by Paradip and Balasore, both registering 33.6°C. Other areas, including Chandbali, Bhubaneswar, and Gopalpur, also reported temperatures above 32°C.
According to the IMD weather bulletin, Odisha is expected to experience varied weather conditions today. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at one or two places over several districts in the southern part of the state.
These districts include Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangapur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, and Ganjam. Residents in these areas can expect sudden rain showers and thunderstorms.
In contrast, dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of Odisha. This includes areas outside of the aforementioned districts, where mostly clear skies and dry conditions can be expected.
