Bhubaneswar: In a bizarre incident, a cobra was rescued from the refrigerator of a house at Kundhei village under Kakatpur block in Puri district on Friday.
The incident took place at the residence of Nrusingha Pradhan.
According to reports, Nrusingha’s wife was taken aback when she opened the refrigerator to take something from the upper compartment and spotted a cobra hiding behind the ice-cube tray.
Startled by the sight, she immediately alerted other family members, who then contacted the Snake Helpline for assistance.
On receiving the call, noted snake rescuer Braj Kishore Sahoo from the Snake Helpline rushed to the spot and successfully rescued the reptile from inside the refrigerator.
It reportedly took him around half an hour to safely remove the venomous snake from the appliance.
