Bhubaneswar: After a brief respite, winter has returned to Odisha, with the temperature dropping below 15°C in 15 places across the state.
According to the India Meteorological Department, four places recorded a temperature of 12°C or lower. The night temperature is expected to drop further by 2-3°C over the next two days, making it even chillier.
The cold wave is expected to continue, with the night temperature likely to remain below 15°C in most places of interior and southern Odisha on Thursday and Friday. However, after 2 days, the night temperature is expected to rise by 2-3°C over the next 5 days.
G Udayagiri recorded the lowest temperature of 8.6°C on Tuesday night, followed by Daringbadi (10°C), Rourkela (10.1°C), Jharsuguda (10.4°C), Phulbani (12°C), Keonjhar (12.5°C), Sundargarh (12.6°C), Koraput (13.2°C), Baripada (12.6°C), Bhawanipatna (13.8°C), Nabarangapur (13.8°C), Bhadrak (14°C), Dhenkanal (14.1°C), Rayagada (14.4°C), and Sambalpur (15.2°C). The night temperature in Cuttack was 14.6°C, while Bhubaneswar recorded 16°C.
