College Student Dies As Tree Branch Falls On Moving Bike In Koraput

Koraput: A college student died while two others sustained critical injuries as a branch of a tree fell on the bike they were travelling in. This incident took place at Mahuli Ghati area under Baipariguda police limits in Koraput district, on Wednesday.

As per reports, the mishap occurred when three Plus III students of Baipariguda Degree College were on their way to the college to appear for an examination. The tree branch suddenly fell on the moving bike which caused the death of student Mahendra Nayak, a resident of Chhinchara village.

The other two students, Dharma Mali and Kamulu Harijan of Jeypore, were rushed to the Community Health Centre in critical condition and are undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, firefighters from Baipariguda reached the mishap site and cleared the road by cutting the fallen tree branch. Police have begun investigating the incident.
