Bhubaneswar: Security personnel have intensified combing operations in Gandhamardan hill under Paikamal police limits in Bargarh district following an exchange of fire with Naxals on Monday evening, police sources said.
According to the police, acting on reliable information about the presence of Naxals on Gandhamardan hill, DVF and SOG personnel on Saturday launched an anti-Naxal operation. During a search operation on Monday, an exchange of fire took place under Paikamal police limits. Security personnel searched the area thoroughly which led to the recovery of Naxal items.
