Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police busted a fake call center in the capital city on Wednesday and detained five persons in this connection.
The call center was operating from A-205 Block of Kanchan Apartment in Sundarpada, a suburb of Bhubaneswar.
According to reports, the illegal call center was running in Block A-205 of Kanchan Apartment for a long time. Acting on a tip-off, the Cyber and Airfield police raided the apartment on Wednesday and seized numerous items and equipment from the place.
Currently, the police are interrogating the detained persons for information on the people involved in this racket and for how long it was operating there.
Talking to the media, Bhubaneswar DCP Pinak Mishra said, “The investigation is in a preliminary state. Besides, it is a technical subject and we will be able to give you detailed information after our experts investigate into the matter.”
