Bhubaneswar: In a bid to deter anti-social activities and to ensure public safety, the Commissionerate Police held a special ‘Convoy Patrolling’ in the capital city on Wednesday night.
The patrolling effort, which involved additional commissioners, Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs), Assistant Commissioners of Police (ACPs), and Inspectors-In-Charges (IICs) of police stations, aimed to intensify checks and blocking at various locations. This coordinated effort is part of a larger strategy to make the city crime-free.
As per reports, the Commissionerate Police has launched a special ‘Convoy Patrolling’ initiative to ensure public safety in the capital city. This move is in addition to the existing measures, which include Naka Bandi, Drunk and Drive Checking and Empty Checking. This coordinated effort aims to prevent crimes, respond quickly to emergencies, and gather intelligence on potential crime hotspots.
Twin City Police Commissioner Suresh Dev Datta Singh emphasized that the city will not tolerate any criminal activities and that offenders will be swiftly apprehended and prosecuted. The police are committed to making the capital city crime-free.
He stated: “There will be no tolerance for crime in the city, and offenders will be swiftly apprehended and prosecuted. Police are always vigilant to control crime, whether in uniform or plain clothes. Police are conducting patrols and checks, often in coordination with various stations, to ensure public safety. This initiative will continue regularly to maintain law and order.”
