Bhubaneswar: With Republic Day just around the corner, the Commissionerate Police intensified chocking and blocking operations across the State Capital as part of its efforts to ensure public safety.

Police have also apprehended several youths during these checks and seized their vehicles after finding them driving under the influence. This crackdown on intoxicated driving is part of the broader strategy of Commissionerate Police to prevent accidents and maintain law and order during the Republic Day celebrations.

With the Republic Day celebrations expected to draw large crowds, the Commissionerate Police are leaving no stone unturned to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Pinak Mishra, “ Police have launched blocking and chocking operations in and around Bhubaneswar ahead of significant events, as directed by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and the Director General of Police. These operations aim to enhance night patrolling and ensure a secure environment. To intensify patrolling, a special initiative has been implemented, where senior police officials will oversee checking, blocking, and law enforcement activities. This move aims to keep all police personnel on high alert, ensuring that patrolling and other law enforcement activities are carried out thoroughly.”
