Commissionerate Police Introduces Helpline Number To Combat Street Crime in Cuttack

Cuttack: In a bid to curb the rising graph of street crimes in Silver City, the Commissionerate Police has introduced a helpline number for citizens to report street crimes, including snatching, information on movement of anti-socials, miscreants and public consumption of liquor. The direct mobile helpline number is 7978894405.

According to sources close to CP, the helpline number has been launched in Cuttack urban police district (UPD). It will function in addition to the existing Control Room Number 112.

Also, The Street Crime Prevention and Detection Unit (SCPDU) of Cuttack Police will remain alert 24×7 to help the public out at the time of emergency. With the number, Cuttack residents can call or whats app messages related to street crime at any time.  And the message or call will be directly received in the control room and details will be noted.

Police will contact the caller within 15 minutes and ensure quick action along with logical disposal of the complaint within 24 hours.

Additional DCP, Crime Anil Mishra will review all the calls made on this number on daily basis. Besides, complainant can contact Mishra if their complaint is not resolved in 24 hours.
