Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police has issued strict directive with regard to appointment of private security personnel/bouncers by liquor bar owners under its jurisdiction for the next two months.
As per the directive, it is mandatory for bar owners to get the previous criminal record of the private security personnel checked from the DCP of the conerned area before appointment.
Bar owners can engage security personnel from private security agencies.
Bar owners have to inform the local police in writing about the security personnel engaged by them.
The engaged security personnel shall come under the purview of the general law.
Bar owners can share details of these security personnel by calling 112 wherever necessary.
Under no circumstances, these security personnel can violate the fundamental rights of customers.
Twin city Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi has informed that the aforementioned directive shall remain in force in the twin city from May 10 to July 8 (both days included).
The directive was issued since it has come to the notice of the government that several criminal cases have been registered against such security personnel in the Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police area in the recent past.
There is threat to the life of customers and breach of peace in society from bouncers.
