Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has issued a traffic advisory in Bhubaneswar today due to the visit of VVIPs, including Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari.
As per reports, Gadkari is scheduled to lay the foundation stones for several infrastructure projects worth over Rs 3,300 crore. A public meeting will be held at the Baramunda area, which is expected to cause significant traffic congestion in and around the city.
From 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, heavy traffic is expected on the stretch from Vani Vihar Square to Rasulgarh Square via the World Skill Centre and vice versa. From 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, traffic congestion is likely in and around Baramunda Square and its adjoining areas. Keeping this in mind, the Commissionerate Police advised commuters to plan their route accordingly and take alternate routes where possible to avoid inconvenience.
The release issued by the Commissionerate Police read, “Commuters are advised to plan their route accordingly and take alternate routes where possible to avoid inconvenience, for smooth traffic management during this period, cooperation from the general public is solicited.”
