Bhubaneswar: Newly appointed Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Sarat Patnaik was given a rousing welcome by his party workers at the airport here today on his arrival from New Delhi.
Congress veteran and Jatni MLA Suresh Routray and leaders of various front organisations of the grand old party welcomed Patnaik with bouquets to the beating of drums at the airport.
He was taken in a massive rally to Congress Bhawan-the party’s state headquarters.
The newly elected OPCC chief returned from Delhi after discussing organizational matters with former All India Congress Committee (AICC) president Rahul Gandhi.
Patnaik could not meet party president Sonia Gandhi as she is suffering from Covid-19.
This was Patnaik’s first visit to Delhi to meet party high command after taking charge as the State Congress chief.
