Cuttack: The Commissionerate Police in Cuttack today arrested a police constable for alleged repeated sexual exploitation of a woman.
The victim woman had lodged a complaint against the constable at the Mahila Police Station in Cuttack.
“A woman who had complained that a policeman of the rank of a constable had on several occasions maintained physical relationship with her by making false promises despite her unwillingness,” informed Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra speaking to reporters here today.
The Cuttack DCP said that on the basis of the woman’s complaint, an FIR was registered.
“We conducted an investigation into the allegation and after completing all legal formalities the constable was arrested,” the DCP added.
Mishra said that the accused constable served at the Reserve Police office.
He added that the accused constable has been suspended from service following his arrest and departmental disciplinary proceedings have been initiated against him.
