Koraput: A team of Malkangiri Police landed in trouble after being mistaken as dacoits during a raid at Matikhal village under Machkund police limits in Koraput district on Friday.
Reportedly, villagers attacked the police team who were in civil dress during a midnight raid on ganja smuggling in the village. One police personnel was detained by the villagers.
On getting information, Machkund Police reached the village and rescued the detained cop.
