Patnagarh (Bolangir): Police have seized 476 bottles of cough syrup, cash amounting to Rs 7,500 and two motorcycles during a surprise raid near Sanuden village ground in Khaprakhol block under Patnagarh sub-division of Bolangir district.
Police have arrested three persons connected with the illegal activity.
The accused persons have been identified as Rashmiranjan Bariha (29), Ramesh Bariha (26) and Seshadev Seth (29).
According to reports, acting on a tip-off that Rashmiranjan Bariha and Ramesh Bariha of Ganbhatli village under Khaprakhol block who had come on their bikes were waiting for buyers to sell cough syrup at the Sanuden village ground, Khaprakhol police conducted a raid.
Police seized 400 bottles of cough syrup, Rs 7,500 in cash and two motorcycles from their possession.
Based on information revealed by them during interrogation, the police conducted a raid at the house of one Seshadev Seth of Luhasingha village and seized 76 bottles of cough syrup.
Khaprakhol IIC Ramakant Sahu has informed that the police have registered a case and arrested Rashmiranjan, Ramesh and Seshadev in this connection.
They have been forwarded to court following their arrest, he added.
