Country Liquor Made In Hotel Toilet In Bhubaneswar; Two Arrested

Bhubaneswar: In a major crackdown on illicit liquor trade, the Commissionerate Police raided a hotel in Shastri Nagar area in the Capital city and seized a massive quantity of country liquor with arresting two persons in this connection. The raid, which took place in front of Shastri Nagar Traffic post, unearthed a clandestine country liquor factory operating out of the hotel’s toilet.

Thousands of liters of country liquor were destroyed, and all equipment used for manufacturing the liquor were seized.

Interestingly, the hotel in question had a dual facade – a hotel and fast food restaurant in the front, while a country liquor factory operated secretly inside. The police revealed that country liquor had been illegally manufactured in the hotel toilet for the past two years and sold in various parts of the capital.

To avoid raising suspicion, the hotel owner had cleverly put up a board in front of the property. The raid comes on the heels of another recent seizure of a large quantity of liquor in Salia Sahi, where the excise department also destroyed equipment used for manufacturing contrabands.
