Puri: In a shocking incident, the bodies of a married couple were found inside their rented house at Arjun Singhpur village under Satasankha area in Pipili block of Puri district.
The deceased couple had been married for seven years and were living away from their native village in a rented house.
The exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained. Police are investigating whether it was a case of double suicide or murder.
On Tuesday morning, when the couple did not open the door of their house for a long time, neighbours grew suspicious and broke open the door. They were shocked to find both husband and wife lying dead inside the house.
Upon being informed, Officer-in-Charge of Satasankha Police Outpost reached the spot, seized the bodies, and sent them for post-mortem examination.
A preliminary investigation has been initiated. As of now, police suspect it to be a case of suicide, but the exact cause and circumstances will only be clear after detailed investigation and post-mortem reports.
