Khurda: A couple was found hanging from a tree near the roadside at Goudapatna village under Jankia police station in Khordha district, on Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Ajay Pradhan (43) and Shanti Sahu. Both are residents of Rajsunakhala.
According to sources, the bodies of Ajay and Shanti were found near a tree, with a scooter parked on the road at some distance from the bodies. It is suspected that the couple might have used the scooter to reach the spot and committed suicide.
Meanwhile, Jankia police have taken custody of the bodies and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances leading to their death.
